ST. GALL Catholic Church near Reno, Nevada sent us this report June 2002:

Recently at the 8 a.m. Sunday Mass, St. Gall community welcomed nine returning Catholics. Each person participated in LANDINGS "The welcoming side of Catholic evangelization" by participating and completing one of the 4 group sessions recently held at St. Gall.

Groups sessions cannot happen without the help of dedicated parishioners who share their time and faith with the returnees as they journey home. God calls Catholics home and asks his people to welcome them. Through the Paulist program, LANDINGS, the St. Gall community is able to provide returnees with a comfortable setting among active Catholics and other returnees to share their concerns and their faith experience.

To date 4 group sessions have been held, each lasting 8 weeks depending on the number of people participating. The weekly meetings include hospitality, prayer, sharing of spiritual journey stories and discussion of contemporary Catholic themes. The participants' evaluation of the program has been very positive.

The LANDINGS program is ongoing. Coordinators are scheduling group sessions for new returnees that will begin in June or July.
